The Legal Stuff

Carla Collinson Photography (“the Photographer”, “I”, “me”) provides photography services including studio shoots, location shoots, in-home sessions, events, and headshots. These terms apply to all clients (“you”, “the Client”).

Your safety is a priority. By attending any session, you agree to follow the Photographer’s guidance and behave in a way that keeps yourself and others safe.

2.1 Studio Health & Safety

• All cables may be taped or covered to reduce trip hazards.

• Lighting and equipment will be weighted or sandbagged.

• Only the Photographer may move or adjust equipment.

• Fire exits must remain clear at all times.

• Clients agree to supervise any children or vulnerable adults they bring.

• No food/drink near electrical equipment.

• You enter and use the studio at your own risk.

2.2 Location Shoots

• Risk assessments may be carried out in advance where appropriate.

• Extra care is required around uneven ground, water, busy areas, or roads.

• Permission will be obtained for shoots in restricted or private locations.

• Clients must follow instructions to maintain safety.

2.3 Shoots in Client Homes

When working in your home:

• You agree to ensure walkways and shooting areas are clear of hazards (e.g., clutter, pets, liquids, breakables).

• Children and pets must be supervised and kept away from lighting/equipment.

• Adequate space and ventilation should be provided.

2.4 Hygiene

• Equipment is cleaned regularly.

• Hand washing and sanitising options are available.

• Face coverings are optional.

2.5 Medical/Accessibility Needs

Clients must inform the Photographer of any relevant medical conditions, allergies, mobility needs, or accessibility requirements before the session.

3.1 Deposits

• A non-refundable deposit is required to secure your booking.

• Bookings are not confirmed until the deposit is received.

• Deposits may be transferable to another date at the Photographer’s discretion.

3.2 Payment

• The remaining balance is due on or before the date of your session.

• No images will be released until full payment has been received unless otherwise spoken about between the photographer and client.

4.1 Client Cancellations

• Minimum 48 hours’ notice is required.

• Deposits are non-refundable but may be transferred if the Photographer approves a reschedule.

• Cancellations with less than 48 hours’ notice may require full or partial payment of the session fee.

4.2 Photographer Cancellations

• In the event of illness, emergency, or technical failure, the Photographer will offer a rescheduled session or a refund if no alternative date is possible.

• Liability for cancellations is limited to the amount paid by the Client.

5.1 Copyright

• All images remain the intellectual property and copyright of Carla Collinson.

• You are granted permission to use your images for personal use only, including social media and printing.

5.2 Restrictions

You may not:

• sell, license, or commercially use the images without written permission

• alter, heavily edit, or apply filters that distort the Photographer’s style

• allow third parties (brands, publications, agencies) to use the images without permission

5.3 Photographer Usage (Model Release)

With your consent (obtained via form at the shoot), images may be used for:

• Website portfolio

• Social media

• Printed marketing

• Exhibitions or competitions

• Press features

If you prefer your images to remain private, please notify the Photographer in advance.

By booking a session, you agree to:

• Arrive on time and prepared for your session.

• Follow all safety instructions.

• Supervise children and vulnerable adults.

• Treat the studio and equipment with care.

• Not bring food/drink near equipment unless agreed.

• Notify the Photographer of any concerns before or during the shoot.

Late arrivals may result in reduced shooting time.

• While all reasonable precautions are taken, the Photographer is not responsible for accidents, injuries, allergic reactions, property damage, or lost items during sessions.

• The Photographer is not liable for delays or interruptions caused by weather, public events, emergencies, or circumstances beyond control.

• Public liability insurance is in place for professional work.

• Standard editing is included: colour correction, lighting adjustments, and minor skin retouching.

• Extensive retouching (e.g., body reshaping, object removal) may incur an additional fee.

• Delivery times will be communicated at booking but may vary during busy periods.

• RAW files are not provided under any circumstances.

• This gift card is non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash.

• Valid for one use only unless otherwise stated.

• Gift cards must be redeemed on or before the expiry date printed on the voucher. Expired vouchers cannot be accepted.

• Bookings are subject to availability. Please contact Carla Collinson Photography to arrange a suitable date.

• The voucher must be presented at the time of booking (digital or physical).

• Travel fees may apply for shoots outside the standard service area.

• Gift cards cannot be used in conjunction with other offers, promotions, or discounts unless otherwise stated.

• If the session value exceeds the gift card amount, the remaining balance must be paid on or before the session date.

• No change will be given if the full value of the voucher is not used.

• Rescheduling: At least 48 hours’ notice is required to reschedule a session. Failure to attend without notice may void the voucher.

• The gift card covers the session/package stated. Any extras (additional images, prints, extended time) are chargeable.

• The photographer reserves the right to decline bookings in inappropriate or unsafe conditions.

By booking, paying a deposit, or attending a session, you confirm that you:

• have read and understood these Terms & Conditions,

• agree to comply with safety guidance,

• accept the Photographer’s copyright policies,

• enter the studio, location, or home session at your own risk.
